Laryngeal electromyography (LEMG) can detect nerve damage in the larynx for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) patients, even before symptoms appear. This diagnostic tool aids in identifying ALS, particularly when other signs are absent.

- LEMG identified laryngeal denervation in 11 of 12 patients with normal NF, and 16 patients showed specific neurogenic changes.

- Laryngeal electromyography (LEMG) effectively identifies laryngeal denervation in ALS patients.
