Veno-arterial extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (VA-ECMO) arteriotomy sites can now be closed percutaneously at the bedside using vascular closure devices. This novel technique offers a potentially safer and more efficient alternative to traditional open surgical repair for VA-ECMO decannulation.
