Cervical Abnormalities in Severe Spinal Deformity: A 10-year MRI Review

Over half of severe spinal deformities (SSD) patients have cervical anomalies (CA), including osseous (COA) and intraspinal neural axis abnormalities (CIINAA). Increased COA diversity, particularly in upper vertebral levels, correlates with higher CIINAA incidence, though most CA patients remain asymptomatic.

- The majority of SSD patients with CA (83.9%) were asymptomatic, highlighting the importance of thorough screening.
