Changes in Tracheal Respiratory Mucosa After Thyroidectomy: A Rat Model

Thyroidectomy surgery can alter the tracheal mucosa, potentially causing discomfort. Studies show increased mucosal area and changes in mucin production and basal cell activity after the procedure.

- Thyroidectomy induces significant changes in the tracheal mucosa.
- These surgical-induced mucosal alterations may contribute to the discomfort experienced by patients post-thyroidectomy.
