SARS-CoV-2 productively infects human gut enterocytes

Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infects the intestine, not just the lungs. Human small intestinal organoids show the gut epithelium supports SARS-CoV-2 replication, offering a new model for studying the virus.
