Summary

Visual memory tests, including Paired Associates Learning (PAL) and Delayed Matching to Sample (DMS), can identify changes in mild cognitive impairment (MCI). These tests, along with Pattern Recognition Memory (PRM) and Spatial Span (SSP), predict future cognitive status shifts.

Purpose of the Study:

  • 201 participants over 50 with subjective cognitive complaints underwent four CANTAB visual memory tests (PAL, DMS, PRM, SSP) at baseline and follow-ups (18-24 months).
