Effect of a novel synbiotic on Streptococcus mutans.

L-arginine enhances the growth of Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG (LrG). The combination of 2% L-arginine and LrG synbiotic effectively inhibits cariogenic Streptococcus mutans growth, showing potential as an anti-caries treatment.
