Intracranial pseudolymphoma is rare. A case of a 44-year-old female with a ventricular lesion revealed benign lymphoid tissue, marking the first intraventricular and third overall reported instance.

Area of Science:

  • Neurology
  • Oncology
  • Pathology

Background:

  • Intracranial pseudolymphoma is an exceptionally rare condition.
  • A history of Burkitt's lymphoma preceded the current presentation.

Observation:

  • A 44-year-old female presented with headaches.
  • Imaging revealed a right lateral ventricular lesion in a patient with a history of Burkitt's lymphoma.

Findings:

  • Biopsy confirmed the lesion was benign reactive lymphoid tissue, not malignant lymphoma.
  • This represents the third reported case of intracranial pseudolymphoma and the first intraventricular occurrence.

Implications:

  • This case underscores the importance of considering benign mimics in the differential diagnosis of intracranial lesions, especially in patients with a history of lymphoma.
