Pneumatosis intestinalis (PI), a rare finding of free air in the bowel wall, was observed in a COVID-19 patient. This case suggests a potential link between SARS-CoV-2 infection and PI, advocating for conservative management when asymptomatic.

- No gastrointestinal symptoms were reported by the patient during hospitalization.
Findings:
- The patient received treatment for COVID-19 and was also treated with antibiotics for the PI.
- A follow-up CT scan after two weeks showed complete resolution of the pneumatosis intestinalis.
- This case represents the first reported instance of PI in the context of COVID-19.
Implications:
- The study hypothesizes a multifactorial etiology for PI in COVID-19 patients, potentially involving SARS-CoV-2-induced bowel wall damage and microbiota alterations.
