Hemoglobin-bound platelets correlate with the increased platelet activity in hemoglobin E/β-thalassemia

Hemoglobin E/β-thalassemia (HbE/β-thal) patients show increased Hb-bound platelets, linked to heightened platelet activation and reactivity. This finding may explain vascular complications in HbE/β-thal.
