Abstract:
As part of the advancements in the characterization of the irradiation field for boron neutron capture therapy, we are developing a Bonner-sphere neutron energy spectrometer for which the liquid moderator is changed remotely. Simulations were performed to find the best combination of liquid moderators and composition of the Bonner spheres. The combination finally adopted was five-layered concentric acrylic spheres with two different liquid moderators and six optimal patterns for moderator injection.
