Attachment impacts cortisol awakening response in chronically depressed individuals

- Attachment avoidance may buffer CAR blunting in individuals with low attachment anxiety, but high levels of both anxiety and avoidance may exacerbate CAR blunting.
- Attachment anxiety is a significant predictor of future depression severity.
