Summary

Flow cytometry analysis of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) revealed distinct lymphocyte profiles in active multiple sclerosis (MS). Increased CD4+ and decreased CD8+ T-cells in CSF may serve as key indicators of MS disease activity.

Background:

  • Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a chronic inflammatory disease of the central nervous system.
  • Assessing MS disease activity is crucial for effective treatment and management.
