Summary

Oropharyngeal secretions (OSs) sampling improves SARS-CoV-2 RNA detection accuracy compared to nasopharyngeal swabs (NPSs) in nucleic acid amplification testing. This method reduces the risk of patients with COVID-19 being discharged while still infectious.
