Levodopa Positively Affects Neovascular Age-Related Macular Degeneration

Levodopa shows promise in treating neovascular age-related macular degeneration (nAMD) by reducing retinal fluid and improving vision. This therapy, targeting G protein-coupled receptor 143 (GPR143), may offer an alternative to anti-VEGF injections for nAMD patients.

Background:
- Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) is a leading cause of blindness globally.
