Background:

Schistosomiasis is a prevalent neglected tropical disease with substantial health impacts.
While affecting multiple organs, gallbladder involvement is exceptionally rare.
This study focuses on a unique case of isolated gallbladder schistosomiasis.

Observation:

A 20-year-old female presented with radiological findings suggestive of a gallbladder polyp.
The patient was from a region endemic for schistosomiasis.
The case involved isolated involvement of the gallbladder.

Findings:

Histopathological examination confirmed schistosomiasis of the gallbladder.
This represents the first reported case of isolated gallbladder schistosomiasis in English literature.
Radiological presentation mimicked a gallbladder polyp.

Implications:

Clinicians should consider schistosomiasis in patients from endemic areas with gallbladder pathologies.
Early diagnosis and treatment of schistosomiasis can prevent severe morbidity.
This case expands the understanding of schistosomiasis's clinical manifestations.
