Area of Science:

  • Uropathology
  • Cellular Biology
  • Immunohistochemistry

Background:

  • Malacoplakia is a rare acquired disorder characterized by the presence of large foamy macrophages with characteristic intracytoplasmic inclusions called Michaelis-Gutmann bodies.
  • It can occur in various organs, but prostatic involvement is uncommon.
