Deciphering correlation between chromaticity and activity of anammox sludge

The red color of anaerobic ammonium-oxidizing bacteria (AnAOB) sludge can now quantitatively estimate anammox activity. This study links sludge color, specifically reduced cytochrome c content, to AnAOB quantity and activity for improved process monitoring.
