Summary

The development of Transverse Alternating Field Electrophoresis (TAFE) offers a simple, high-resolution method for separating large DNA fragments up to 9 million base pairs. This advancement in pulsed-field electrophoresis will significantly improve human genome analysis, including restriction mapping and large fragment cloning.
