Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy as a Risk Factor for Sarcopenia

Diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN) is common in type 2 diabetes. Sarcopenia, characterized by muscle dysfunction, was linked to higher neuropathy questionnaire scores in patients with DPN.

- Active screening for sarcopenia is recommended in individuals with DPN.
