Background:

Websites are crucial for prospective cardiothoracic (CT) surgery fellows seeking program information.
Understanding trainee priorities for website content is essential for effective recruitment.

Purpose of the Study:

To identify key informational content desired by CT surgery fellowship interviewees on program websites.
To enhance a specific CT surgery fellowship program's website based on trainee feedback.

Main Methods:

A survey was administered to CT surgery fellowship interviewees regarding website content importance.
The program website was redesigned incorporating identified high-priority content.
A follow-up survey assessed the impact of the website redesign on perceived usefulness.

Main Results:

Faculty profiles, rotation schedules, and fellow profiles were the most sought-after information.
Post-redesign, interviewees reported significantly higher satisfaction with information availability (3.56 to 4.64) and website utility (3.67 to 4.77).

Conclusions:

CT surgery fellowship websites are vital resources for trainees.
Tailoring website content to trainee preferences demonstrably improves program website effectiveness and utility.
