Entrustable professional activities for apheresis medicine education

This study developed 26 practical, observable Entrustable Professional Activities (EPAs) for apheresis medicine (AM) training. These EPAs will assess and support trainee performance in AM practice.

- Activities were deemed acceptable if they scored >3.7 average and were rated 4 or 5 by ≥70% of experts.

- Eleven of the 28 initial activities lacked acceptable QUEPA scores due to being unobservable, unfocused, unrealistic, or not addressing multiple competencies.
- Subcommittee members revised the activities over two cycles.
- A final list of 26 EPAs for apheresis medicine was produced.

- A systematic development process yielded practical, focused, and observable EPAs for apheresis medicine.
