Background:

Nocturia, or nighttime urination, significantly impacts quality of life.
Accurate etiological diagnosis is crucial for effective nocturia management.
The Targeting the Individual's Aetiology of Nocturia to Guide Outcomes (TANGO) tool aims to simplify this diagnostic process.

Purpose of the Study:

To evaluate the psychometric properties of the Turkish version of the TANGO screening tool.
To establish the validity and reliability of the TANGO tool for assessing nocturia causes in a Turkish cohort.

Main Methods:

A cohort of 124 hospitalized patients from urology, orthopedics, and general surgery were enrolled.
Participants completed the 22-item Turkish TANGO questionnaire, with re-administration after 4 weeks for test-retest reliability.
Demographic data, drug use, and nocturia severity were recorded.

Main Results:

Reliability analysis indicated good internal consistency (Cronbach's alpha = 0.727) and test-retest stability (kappa = 0.75).
Validity was supported by a moderate positive correlation between the TANGO-Urinary Incontinence Score and nocturia frequency (r = 0.452, P = .003).

The Turkish version of the TANGO screening tool is a valid and reliable instrument for determining nocturia etiology.
The TANGO tool can be confidently used in the Turkish population to guide nocturia diagnosis and management.
