Summary

This study discusses heterotopic brain tissue in a newborn's upper lip, a rare congenital anomaly that can mimic hemangioma. Essential neurosurgical and radiographic evaluations are needed to rule out intracranial connections before surgery.

Background:

Heterotopic brain tissue is a rare congenital anomaly.
It typically presents at birth in the upper lip.
This condition can be misdiagnosed as hemangioma.
