Purpose of the Study:

  • To develop and evaluate a novel cognitive-physical training program using an interactive exergame mat system (EMAT).
  • To investigate the effects of EMAT on physical performance, cognitive function, dual-task walking (DTW), and fall risk in older adults.
  • To compare the efficacy of EMAT against a multicomponent exercise intervention in a controlled setting.

Main Methods:

  • A quasi-experimental, non-randomized controlled intervention study involving 110 community-dwelling older adults.
  • Participants were assigned to either the EMAT group (n=56) or a control group (n=54) with a multicomponent exercise intervention.
