Pathological spontaneous activity as a prognostic marker in chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy

Pathological spontaneous activity (PSA) in electromyography (EMG) is linked to greater disability in chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIDP). Continuous or new PSA indicates disease progression and is common in atypical CIDP, suggesting EMG is a valuable tool for monitoring CIDP.
