Summary

Spinal epidural hematoma can mimic stroke symptoms in patients with an activated stroke code. Early differentiation is crucial, as pain is a strong predictor of this rare condition.

Area of Science:

  • Neurology
  • Neurosurgery
  • Emergency Medicine

Background:

  • Spinal epidural hematoma (SEH) is a rare neurological emergency.
  • SEH can present with symptoms that mimic acute ischemic stroke.
