Area of Science:

  • Nuclear medicine
  • Radiopharmaceutical chemistry
  • Nanotechnology

Background:

  • Sentinel lymph node (SLN) biopsy is crucial for cancer staging.
  • Development of effective radiopharmaceuticals (RPs) for SLN imaging is an ongoing challenge.
  • Nanocolloid RPs offer potential for improved diagnostic accuracy.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To develop and evaluate novel nanocolloid radiopharmaceuticals (RPs) for sentinel lymph node (SLN) diagnosis.
  • To investigate methods for producing technetium-99m labeled nanocolloid RPs.
  • To assess the functional suitability of these RPs for scintigraphic imaging in cancer patients.

Main Methods:

  • Synthesis of nanocolloid RPs using inorganic and organic matrices.
  • Labeling of particles with technetium-99m.
  • Optimization of reagent composition and production conditions.
  • Functional evaluation of RPs for scintigraphic diagnostics.

Main Results:

  • Established methods for producing nanocolloid RPs based on inorganic and organic matrices.
  • Determined optimal reagent compositions and conditions for RP synthesis.
  • Demonstrated the functional suitability of the developed nanocolloid RPs for SLN scintigraphy.

Conclusions:

  • Successful development of technetium-99m labeled nanocolloid RPs.
  • Validated methods for nanocolloid RP production for diagnostic applications.
  • New RPs show promise for enhanced sentinel lymph node imaging in oncology.
