Summary
This study reports a rare case of co-occurring Ankylosing Spondylitis (AS) and Kimura's Disease (KD) in a patient with an ARPC1B gene mutation. Combined therapy with low-dose glucocorticoid, cyclosporine, and Etanercept achieved long-term remission for both conditions.
Area of Science:
- Rheumatology
- Immunology
- Genetics
Background:
- Ankylosing Spondylitis (AS) and Kimura's Disease (KD) are chronic inflammatory conditions.
- A rare co-occurrence of AS and KD was observed in a patient with a family history of AS.
- Family-based whole exome sequencing was employed to investigate potential genetic links.
