Olfactory dysfunction in patients after recovering from COVID-19

Many COVID-19 survivors experience lingering smell loss. A study found nearly half of patients still had impaired smell two months after symptom onset, even if they didn't notice it.

- Some patients with objective hyposmia do not subjectively notice a smell deficit.
- Further long-term studies are needed to determine if full olfactory recovery is achieved by all affected individuals.
