Background:

Huntington's Disease (HD) is a progressive neurodegenerative disorder.
Sexual dysfunction is increasingly recognized as a significant comorbidity in HD patients.

Purpose of the Study:

To systematically review the prevalence of sexual dysfunction in Huntington's Disease.
To highlight the impact of sexual dysfunction on quality of life in HD patients.
To identify gaps in current clinical and research approaches to sexual dysfunction in HD.

Main Methods:

Systematic review of existing literature.
Comparison of sexual dysfunction prevalence in HD patients versus control groups.

Main Results:

Sexual dysfunction is significantly more prevalent in individuals with Huntington's Disease compared to controls.
Sexual dysfunction in HD (SDHD) substantially diminishes patient quality of life.

Conclusions:

SDHD is a prevalent and impactful condition that is inadequately addressed in current HD management.
Existing HD rating scales and treatment guidelines lack specific provisions for SDHD.
There is a critical need for the utilization of validated screening tools for SDHD in both clinical and research settings to improve patient care and advance research.
