Summary

Tendon transfers and peripheral reconstruction significantly restore function in patients with brachial plexus injuries. This study found that over half of patients achieved good functional recovery after these surgical interventions.

  • 8% of patients remained 'Unimproved'.

Conclusions:

  • Peripheral reconstruction and tendon transfers offer significant benefits for brachial plexus injury patients.
  • Surgical interventions can substantially augment lost upper limb function.
