Data Reporting and Recording01:24

Data Reporting and Recording

5.2K
Reporting and recording are crucial in data documentation. The timely, thorough, and accurate documentation of facts is essential when recording patient data. Failure to record findings during an assessment or interpretation of a problem will result in loss of information and make the patient document unreliable. The reader is left with general impressions if the information is not specific. A recording is documenting data of the individual's health information in a traceable, secure, and...

Principles of Disease Surveillance01:26

Principles of Disease Surveillance

372
Disease surveillance is the systematic collection, analysis, and interpretation of health data essential to the planning, implementation, and evaluation of public health practice. This process integrates data dissemination to entities responsible for preventing and controlling disease, injury, and disability. Surveillance systems provide crucial information for action, helping public health authorities make informed decisions to manage and prevent outbreaks, ensure public safety, optimize...

Nursing Assessment

8.8K
The two sources for collecting information are primary and secondary. After gathering information, interpretation and validation help to complete the data. The purpose of assessment is to establish data with the initial information, to interpret data about the patient's perceived needs and health problems, and to respond to these problems identified.
The nurse collects all aspects of the patient's health in the initial assessment, establishing priorities for ongoing focused assessments...

Healthcare Associated Infections II: Preventive Measures

3.5K
Essential infection prevention measures are based on the knowledge of the infection chain, the modes of transmission in healthcare settings, and the use of the best practices in all healthcare settings. Compulsory public reporting of healthcare-associated infection rates is needed to allow individuals and the community to make informed choices regarding selecting a healthcare facility.
The best practices for preventing healthcare-associated infections include hand hygiene, patient risk...

Area of Science:

  • Environmental Health Sciences
  • Community-Based Participatory Research

Background:

  • Experts recommend returning environmental exposure results to research participants and communities.
  • Environmental health researchers require improved guidance for effective result reporting.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To identify key issues and actionable areas for reporting back environmental health research findings.
  • To develop a collective understanding of challenges in communicating research results to communities.

Main Methods:

  • A workshop was conducted with 35 attendees to brainstorm and rate issues related to reporting back research results.
  • Concept mapping, nonmetric multidimensional scaling, and hierarchical cluster analysis were used to analyze participant responses.
