Alexithymia and Inflammatory Bowel Disease: A Systematic Review.

Patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) generally do not have clinically significant alexithymia. However, higher levels of alexithymia in IBD patients correlate with psychological distress, suggesting a potential impact of the disease on emotion processing.
