Summary

MacroH2A1 expression is significantly higher in metastatic breast cancer compared to non-metastatic cases. This finding suggests macroH2A1 may indicate a worse prognosis in breast cancer patients.

Background:

  • Breast cancer is a leading cause of cancer in women, frequently metastasizing to bone.
  • Bone metastases in breast cancer patients have a poor prognosis, with limited survival rates.
  • The role of macroH2A1 in breast cancer, particularly its metastatic potential, is not well-established.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To investigate the immunohistochemical expression of macroH2A1 in primary breast cancer.
  • To compare macroH2A1 expression levels between metastatic and non-metastatic breast cancer cases.
  • To evaluate macroH2A1 expression in nodal and distant breast cancer metastases.
