Photoacoustic (PAS) Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy offers superior environmental sample characterization. PAS-FTIR provides more detailed spectra for opaque samples like soil and biochar compared to attenuated total reflectance (ATR) and diffuse reflectance (DR) FTIR.
