Sural nerve schwannoma: A case report

Abstract:
A 54-year old female with lateral ankle and foot pain was referred to an orthopaedic specialist clinic. Examination and investigations revealed a painful mass surrounding the sural nerve. Surgical excision confirmed the diagnosis of a sural nerve schwannoma. The following case report discusses this patient's presentation in further depth, as well as information about schwannomas, their frequency in the lower limb, and recommendations for investigation and management.
