    Background:

    • Inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD), including Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis, are chronic conditions with complex etiologies.
    • The role of microbial infections and associated immune responses in IBD pathogenesis is an area of ongoing research.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To investigate antibody levels against specific bacterial antigens in patients with Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis.
    • To explore the relationship between antibody titers, disease location, disease severity, and clinical remission.

    Main Methods:

    • Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) and immunofluorescence tests were performed on patient sera.
    • Antibody levels were measured against Yersinia enterocolitica (O:9, O:3), Klebsiella pneumoniae, and Pseudomonas maltophilia.
