Severe undernutrition increases bleeding risk on vitamin-K antagonists

- Patients on VKA with undernutrition have a substantially elevated risk of bleeding, with severe undernutrition tripling this risk.
- Nutritional status evaluation provides valuable prognostic information before initiating VKA therapy.
