Background:

Purpose of the Study:

  • To evaluate the diagnostic performance of the novel "Double-Flash" technique in CEUS for papillary thyroid microcarcinomas.
  • To compare the diagnostic ability of "Double-Flash" with conventional CEUS.
  • To assess the potential of "Double-Flash" in improving quantitative diagnosis.

Main Methods:

  • A study included 43 surgically or fine-needle aspiration biopsy (FNAB) confirmed thyroid nodules (<10 mm).
  • "Double-Flash" involved triggering a "Flash" at 40 and 60 seconds during CEUS.
  • Reperfusion curves were analyzed, and diagnostic metrics (sensitivity, specificity, accuracy) were compared between "Double-Flash" and standard CEUS.

  • Conventional CEUS showed 70.0% sensitivity, 53.8% specificity, and 65.1% accuracy.
  • "Double-Flash" achieved 92.3% sensitivity, 82.3% specificity, and 88.4% accuracy.
