Gender-related differences in concomitant articular injuries after acute lateral patellar dislocation

Males are more prone to complete medial patellofemoral ligament tears and patellar cartilage lesions after lateral patellar dislocation. Adult males also show a higher incidence of vastus medialis obliquus injuries compared to females.
