Background:

Falls are a significant health concern for elderly individuals, leading to injuries and reduced quality of life.
Effective educational interventions are crucial for fall risk awareness and prevention in older adults.

Purpose of the Study:

To develop and validate an educational video targeting fall risks in the elderly population.
To ensure the video's content and comprehensibility are suitable for older adults.

Main Methods:

A methodological study involving video creation based on the Fall Prevention Model and Falls Risk Awareness Questionnaire.
Validation by 22 expert judges and assessment by 22 elderly individuals using the Content Validation Index (CVI) and binomial test.
Application of the Cognitive Theory of Multimedia Learning principles in video design.

Main Results:

The ten-minute video incorporated digital animation and audio narration, covering biological, socioeconomic, behavioral, and environmental fall risks and precautions.
High content validity was achieved, with an average CVI of 0.99 from judges and 1.0 from elderly participants.
The video was confirmed to be valid in content and understanding for the target audience.

Conclusions:

The developed educational video is a validated tool for fall prevention in elderly individuals.
The video effectively communicates fall risks and preventive strategies to older adults.
This resource can be utilized in public health initiatives aimed at reducing falls among the elderly.
