Total Antioxidant Status in Stable Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease

Total antioxidant status (TAS) was significantly higher in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) compared to controls. Higher TAS was observed in male COPD patients and correlated with smoking history, suggesting its role in COPD pathogenesis.
