Mesenteric venous thrombosis: A lethal complication of hyperglycemic crises

Hyperosmolar hyperglycemic syndrome (HHS) can rarely cause mesenteric venous thrombosis (MVT). Worsening abdominal pain in patients with HHS and shock requires urgent investigation for MVT.
