Abstract:
This review provides examples from descriptive, case-control, cohort, and experimental epidemiologic studies which have enabled assessment of time-related factors in cancer etiology. Despite limitations of particular approaches, they complement one another in providing information on temporal characteristics that may yield insights into the origins of cancer, the mechanisms involved, and the means of prevention.
