Summary

This study developed a standardized assay to measure platelet beta-galactose exposure, establishing a normal range in healthy adults. This new method aids in diagnosing thrombocytopenic diseases caused by altered galactose exposure.

Background:

Purpose of the Study:

  • Platelet beta-galactose exposure measured using flow cytometry and Ricinus communis agglutinin (RCA).
