Tissue-Specific Ultra-Short Telomeres in Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease

Ultra-short telomeres in lung tissue, not blood, correlate with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) severity. This finding suggests ultra-short telomeres may serve as a tissue-specific biomarker for COPD progression.
