Endotoxemia coupled with heightened inflammation predicts future depressive symptoms

Elevated endotoxemia markers, like lipopolysaccharide-binding protein (LBP), predict future depressive symptoms, especially when combined with inflammation. Gut barrier dysfunction may contribute to depression risk.
