Gut microbiota alterations are linked to Sjögren's syndrome (SS) and dry eye disease. Dysbiosis, particularly a reduced Firmicutes/Bacteroidetes ratio and Faecalibacterium, is common in SS patients, suggesting a gut-eye axis.
