These disorders are characterized by complex neurological and psychological symptoms. Many of these patients take a lot of time, need a lot of care and treatment and also require appropriate environmental conditions. Advanced care planning in the physical, psychosocial and existential areas with the aim of best quality of life is a challenge. Of major importance in this context is a well-organized and calm environment as well as good cooperation between the various professions. The various diseases with neurological and psychological symptoms are associated with specific symptoms for which there are general principles of treatment.
